Colored industrial yttrium-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) powder, while maintaining high strength and toughness, exhibits stable color and is commonly used in high-end structural and decorative ceramics.
Model: 3Y-TZP (Colored)
Form: Dry powder (D50≈0.3 μm) or granulated powder (D50≈60 μm). Granulated powder is suitable for dry pressing/isostatic pressing.
Packaging: 25kg/drum (lined with a plastic bag), sealed and moisture-proof, store in a cool, dry place.
Colored yttrium-stabilized zirconia powder (commonly known as colored 3Y-TZP)
ZrO2 (approx. 91–95%) + Y2O3 (3mol%, approx. 5–8%) + rare earth oxide colorants (such as Pr6O11, CeO2, etc.).
Purity: Industrial grade ≥99.0%, high-end electronic/medical grade can reach over 99.9%.
Crystal form: Room temperature stable tetragonal phase (TZP), some colored transparent ceramics are cubic phase.
Mechanical properties: Flexural strength 1000–1200 MPa, fracture toughness 6–8 MPa·m¹/², hardness 1200–1300 HV, wear-resistant and impact-resistant.
Thermal properties: Melting point ≈2700℃, long-term temperature resistance ≤2200℃, low coefficient of thermal expansion, good thermal shock resistance.
Chemical stability: Resistant to acids and alkalis, corrosion-resistant (except for hot concentrated H₂SO₄, HF), non-toxic, biocompatible.
Powder characteristics: Particle size D50 = 0.3–0.5 μm (nanoscale primary crystals ≈ 50 nm), specific surface area BET = 10–15 m²/g, good dispersibility, easy sintering.

Colored Yttrium Stabilized Zirconia Powder Preparation Processes
1. Co-precipitation Method (Mainstream): Zirconium salt + Yttrium salt + Colorant → Neutralization and precipitation with ammonia water → Washing and drying → High-temperature calcination (800–1000℃) → Ultrafine colored powder.
2. Hydrothermal Method: High-temperature and high-pressure synthesis, resulting in high-purity powder with uniform particle size and excellent dispersibility, suitable for high-end applications.
3. Post-doping Method: White 3Y-TZP powder is ball-milled and mixed with colored oxides, suitable for small-batch, multi-color customization.
